U.S. proposes Net data rules in Asia-Pacific trade talks

As it negotiates a free trade agreement with Asia-Pacific leaders, the U.S. is also striving to establish rules regarding the free flow of Internet data. The effort will also help deal with concerns over data security and user privacy, said Jonathan McHale, deputy assistant U.S. trade representative for telecommunications and electronic commerce policy.
