ACC's Chemical Activity Barometer hits highest point since 2008

The American Chemistry Council's Chemical Activity Barometer has reached its highest level since June 2008, registering a 0.4% increase on a three-month moving average for August. The latest figure indicates "a real improvement in growth dynamics from the smaller, yet steady, increases we saw from March through August," said Kevin Swift, chief economist at ACC. The index also indicates economic growth for the U.S. into 2015, pointing to the "potential for upside surprises in the U.S. economy," Swift said.
