Amway finds new ways to grow in China

Amway's direct-sales concept was born in Michigan in 1959 and today the company named for the "American Way" delivers about 40% of its parent company's $11.3 billion in annual revenue from China. The retailer came back from a ban on direct selling in China by opening brick-and-mortar retail stores, and it has also partnered with Harvard's John F. Kennedy Business School to train Chinese public officials known as Amway Fellows.
