ERCOT expects 6,000 MW of new wind power in the coming years

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas expects to see 6,000 megawatts of new wind power capacity in the coming years, a 58% increase from the wind power available in the state today. New projects are expected to take the state's wind power capacity to as much as 11,255 MW by the end of 2013, ERCOT said. Among the biggest are the 499-MW Hereford Wind project, the 600-MW Conway Windfarm project and the 500-MW Comanche Run Wind project.
