NACTO launches new design guidelines for city streets

The Urban Street Design Guide, a design manual released by the National Association of City Transportation Officials, aims to develop a new "DNA" for city streets, says NACTO President Janette Sadik-Khan. The guide offers six "guiding principles" for design, including designing for safety and remembering that streets are "fundamental to public life."
