New Orleans puts forth $1B, 5-year construction plan

New Orleans plans to invest $1.1 billion in construction projects over the next five years. The majority of work will focus on road repairs and upgrades to public facilities. More than half of the funding -- $706 million -- would go to build a new terminal for the Louis Armstrong International Airport. The city's Planning Commission has approved the plan, but funding needs to be found from an array of sources.
