Survey: Outdoor power equipment demand is growing among Hispanics

The increase in home-improvement spending by Hispanics in 2012 has boosted demand for outdoor power equipment, according to findings presented to the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute during its Market Statistics meeting. A TraQline Hispanic survey found that home-improvement spending by Hispanics reached $19 billion in 2012, translating to 9% of sales. Hispanics are twice as likely to purchase outdoor power equipment as a gift and tend to compare prices at more equipment retailers than the general population, the survey found.
