Opinion: Recognizing brand-name foods begins at early age

Schools across the country are taught to recognize that nutrition comes in boxes of foods, candy wrappers and soft-drink bottles or cans, according to columnist Jane E. Brody. Some school officials are angered by the growing trend, which is often the source for sports uniforms, scoreboards and computers. School districts should work to limit the trend by calling on Congress to introduce legislation at the national level, Brody writes.
