New Jersey scientists seek insights on autism

Researchers at Rutgers University and elsewhere hope to pinpoint which genes are involved with autism and what role environmental factors play in causing the disorder. A CDC study due out this fall will determine the rate of autism in the general population and detail, as principal investigator Walter Zahorodny puts it, "the tremendous personal and education burden of autism."
