White House names Leslie Norwalk as interim CMS chief

The Bush administration named Leslie Norwalk, a member of the senior leadership team at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, to be acting director. Norwalk, who takes the job Oct. 15, is to lead the agency until Congress confirms a permanent replacement for Mark McClellan, who recently announced his resignation.
