Gay and lesbian consumers are more likely to receive equitable treatment from a market-driven health care plan than the reform measures being proposed by Democratic lawmakers, according to Jimmy LaSalvia, executive director of gay conservative group GOProud. "The last place gay and lesbian Americans should look for equitable treatment is the federal government," LaSalvia writes. "Whether [it's] relationship recognition, military service, tax fairness, or any of dozens of other issues, the federal government discriminates against gay and lesbian Americans. Why would it be any different when it comes to [health care]?"
