Bayer still hopes to attract ethane cracker in West Virginia

Bayer CEO Greg Babe is still hoping to attract builders -- including Royal Dutch Shell -- to West Virginia to construct a multi-billion dollar ethane cracker there. The plant could create hundreds of permanent on-site jobs, according to the American Chemistry Council. "The Marcellus Shale contains an unusual amount of ethane," Babe said, and it can be cracked to form ethylene, used in making plastic.
