European Parliament is set to vote on MiFID II

European legislators are expected Wednesday to approve an update of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. Among its features are efforts to bring transparency to dark pools and to stop wholesalers from offering financial advisers or banks a fee for pushing products without telling the final customer. The vote is only one step in a process that could take months; MiFID II might not be implemented until 2015.
