Marketers find work-arounds to barriers in mobile-ad retargeting

Barriers to ad retargeting on mobile devices aren't stopping some marketers, who are tapping into location data and other sources of consumer information to help find users who might be more receptive to a brand's message. For instance, "location patterns can reveal that a user shops at Target every other week. This opens up the opportunity for place retargeting, where Target can reach the user to increase frequency or Wal-Mart can reach the user to convert him to its store," said Kevin Hannan, vice president of product management at Sense Networks, New York.
