Bill calls for open access to federally funded research

A bipartisan bill introduced in the House last week aims to guarantee free public access to research funded by federal agencies, including NASA and the National Science Foundation. The White House earlier this year ordered federal agencies to develop plans for making their research open to the public. The bill was introduced by Reps. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., and Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas.
