Baby boomers are increasingly looking to their IRA or 401(k) savings to finance startups or franchise businesses, and firms such as FranNet are helping to guide prospective franchisees through the risks associated with investing a retirement plan in a new business. Financial advisers, however, say the use of retirement savings is risky and recommend having a thorough understanding of the process before investing.
