Companies find huge advantage in 3PLs to succeed in e-commerce

In the race for domination in e-commerce, supply chain companies and retailers are turning to third-party logistics providers to quickly fulfill product deliveries and grow their market share. Companies find that partnering with 3PLs is more time-efficient than establishing their own e-fulfillment capability for a product, which could take up to a year. "It's not warehouses or trucks, but rather the ability to replicate processes across an entire network -- and quickly -- that singularly qualify 3PLs to smoothly scale these operations up or down," Lonny Warner, a vice president at Menlo Worldwide Logistics, writes.
