EU backs development of molecular Dx test for malaria

Forsite Diagnostics will use a $728,438 grant from the European Commission to support the development of a molecular test to diagnose malaria quickly. The company is developing the blood-based assay for use in detecting Plasmodium falciparum or Plasmodium vivaxis parasites, which trigger malaria, to help doctors prescribe appropriate treatments immediately.
