Faculty union files lawsuit to avert shutdown of City College of San Francisco

The California Federation of Teachers is suing the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges in an attempt to stop the group from revoking accreditation for the City College of San Francisco. The school could lose accreditation next summer over a series of fiscal and governance deficiencies and noncompliance with certain accrediting standards. San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera also has sued the commission seeking to halt a shutdown of the school.
