FASB eyes greater simplicity as a goal

The Financial Accounting Standards Board is considering how it can remove some of the complexity from Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This is, in part, a response to a similar push from the Private Company Council to simplify standards for privately held companies. One example of the FASB's initiative in this area is its new project to address reporting complexity for public and private development-stage companies.
