How location-based apps affect our daily experience

There are a number of mobile applications that can be used to help you find your way to your local coffee shop or other destination of interest. However, the problem with these apps is that it's not always clear what algorithm they are using to direct you, said Clark University geographer Jim Thatcher. "You can end up eliding entire areas of experience," he said.
