Indonesia trains civil servants to fly

Indonesia has one of the fastest-growing aviation industries in the world. To combat an expected pilot shortage, the Indonesian transportation ministry launched a free, 14-month accelerated program to train civil servants as pilots. In exchange for their training, pilots will serve five years as government flight instructors.
