Japan approves PillCam SB 3 device from Given Imaging

Japanese regulators have granted Given Imaging the go-ahead to market its PillCam SB 3 system, which could be released in that country starting next year. The device is the third-generation version of the company's capsule endoscopy system, which is used to diagnose and monitor Crohn's disease and other small-bowel disorders.
