Market shifting in favor of pay-in airport lounges

Lounges that allow travelers to pay for entry are taking off from their roots at European and Asian airports. The reLAX lounge at Los Angeles International Airport led the way for other American airports to include similar lounges. Graham Richards, director of operations for Airport Lounge Development, said that declining airline loyalty is opening up a market for lounges, which were formerly thought of as only for elite fliers.
