Massive quake in Pakistan may have triggered mud volcano island

The deadly 7.7 magnitude earthquake that shook Pakistan on Tuesday may have triggered a mud volcano hundreds of miles off the coast, giving rise to reports of an island that had not existed there before. The island was seen off the Gwadar coastline in a region known for its mud volcanoes, and geologists say the size and distance from the quake's epicenter is consistent with a mud volcano.
