McKee plans expansion for Drake's brand

McKee, which purchased the Drake's brand from Hostess, has returned the snack cakes to retail shelves after a 10-month gap. "These were whole new recipes to us," said Mike Gloekler, communications director. "We didn’t want to take existing products of ours and just repackage them. We wanted to give Drake’s consumers back what they were missing." Gloekler said the company plans to expand into the breakfast market with muffins and other breakfast pastries under the Drake's brand.
