Mich. lawmakers reconsider grading system for schools

Michigan this year has launched a five-color rating system to assess schools' achievement -- a provision in its waiver from parts of No Child Left Behind. Some lawmakers are questioning whether the system is too difficult for parents and others to understand and recently heard testimony about the system by a state official and from Patricia Levesque, CEO of the Foundation For Excellence in Education, who spoke about Florida's A-F letter-grading system.
