Senate proposal to repeal device tax gains more support

A Senate bill that would overturn the 2.3% medical device tax garnered its 36th co-sponsor when Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., announced her support for the bill Monday. The move received applause from Cook Medical executive Scott Sewell, who said the tax "has a tremendous negative effect on jobs and innovation in the United States and North Carolina."
