Study: Autism not tied to celiac disease

The number of autism spectrum disorder diagnoses among individuals with celiac disease was not significantly different than in those without the digestive disorder, Swedish researchers reported in the journal JAMA Psychiatry. However, the study showed that children with positive blood test results for celiac disease had a threefold greater likelihood of receiving an autism diagnosis in the future than those with negative test results.
