Teen, young adult athletes experience similar concussion symptoms

U.S. researchers assessed 184 young athletes with a concussion and found no substantial differences in the rate, duration or severity of concussion symptoms between 13- to 16-year-olds and 18- to 22-year-olds. However, the study published in the Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics noted some age-related variation in neurocognitive testing may occur following sports-related concussion.
