Trash barge inspired plastics exec to start a recycling business

CarbonLite Recycling executive Neville Browne got his start in the plastics business making trash bags but switched to recycling technologies in 1987 after being inspired by a New York trash barge that spent 162 days trying to offload its waste. "That was the beginning of a big turning point," Browne says. "We cannot keep using stuff once and throwing it away because it is piling up and we don't know where to put it."
