U.S. produce sales, prices are on the rise

U.S. retail sales of fresh fruits and vegetables rose in the 52-week period ending Aug. 11, and rising demand also drove up prices compared to the previous 52-week period, according to FreshLook Marketing. Berries brought 18.5% of all fruit sale dollars, and lettuce dominated the vegetable category with 15.5% of total sales.
