Credit card companies benefit from high gas prices

While high gas prices are squeezing gas stations' profit margins, revenue at credit card companies is on the rise because the processing fees that card companies charge gas stations are based on the purchase price of gas. Congressional lawmakers have begun questioning the percentage fee system.
