J.C. Penney criticized for back-to-schools ads

The J.C. Penney Co. back-to-school print circular featured several T-shirts with beer company logos on them, a move parents and watchdog groups say promotes underage drinking. Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. and Diageo PLC are opposed to the marketing and demanded in letters that the practice be stopped. A spokeswoman for J.C. Penney says the shirts will be marketed toward a more mature sector.
