CIA graduate recalls rise to the top

When Steve Ells studied at The Culinary Institute of America after college, he dreamed of starting a "real restaurant." Ells started by opening his first small Chipotle Mexican Grill in Denver in 1993, but his fortunes -- and the restaurant -- took a major turn when McDonald's invested in his idea and a new international chain, which now focuses on serving naturally raised meat and good-quality raw ingredients, was born.
