FMI launches extensive sustainability program

The Food Marketing Institute launched a broad effort to help the industry put sustainability programs in place. FMI's campaign includes consumer research and educational events, among other plans. "Our mission is to help companies chart a course to help preserve the planet through initiatives that make sense economically," said Bob Garrity, a senior vice president at Giant Eagle and chairman of FMI's Sustainability Task Force.
