MSN adopts time-spent model for video ads

MSN Video has switched to a time-spent ad model, screening ads to users of streaming video every three minutes, instead of linking preroll ads to the number of clips viewed. The change is intended to encourage users to spend more time on the site, and eventually generate more ad revenue, according to Rob Bennett, MSN's general manager, video, entertainment and sports.
