RBS group doubles ABN Amro stake, reduces purchase price

A consortium headed by Royal Bank of Scotland, which is in a bidding war with Barclays for ABN Amro, has doubled its stake in the Dutch bank to 8%. The increased ownership reduces the purchase price of ABN Amro anywhere from $844.7 million to $985.5 million, or about 1%.
