Canada issues warning after toxic melamine found in Chinese candy

Health officials in Canada have issued a warning about the possible contamination of the White Rabbit brand of Chinese candy with the toxic chemical melamine. The alert on the milk-based candy was issued as part of a larger investigation into all dairy products from China that have been distributed in Canada. While no illnesses have been reported, the maker of White Rabbit candy has halted sales in China after the products were found to contain the chemical.
