DOD, VA continue to strive for HIT interoperability

The interoperability between the departments of Veterans Affairs and Defense that was reported by the General Accountability Office has received some criticism, but also some praise for how it could affect civilian health care IT. The agencies say that they are positive about the progress, with VA Secretary James Peake saying that interoperability is "absolutely the right way to go."
