Cloud computing is raising issues about sensitive information as companies adopt new ways of storing and handling data, JP Mangalindan writes. The technology is raising concerns about protecting credit card data as well as proprietary information stored in the cloud, but clients can take steps to protect against breaches by learning more about their providers' security practices or by insisting on certain safeguards in their contracts, he suggests.
