W.Va. groups collaborate to expand patient care for uninsured

The Charleston Area Medical Center and Boone Memorial Hospital in West Virginia in 2001 collaborated with three community health centers on a program to address the health needs of the state's uninsured and low-income populations. The groups now want to expand the Community Access Program, which encourages patients to enroll in a community health center for regular care, because it has helps reduce hospital use and health costs in the state while improving patient care.
