CME to raise margins on metals and some Treasury futures

CME Group says collateral requirements for trading gold, silver and copper futures will be raised at the close of trading today. The price of gold has surged to intraday highs exceeding $1,900 an ounce and then fallen below $1,800 the next day. CME also said it will raise margin requirements on the longest-term U.S. Treasury futures following the Federal Reserve's move to reduce long-term interest rates.
