The Berkley School District in Michigan is partnering with several groups to provide a post-secondary special-education program. It will focus on independent-living skills for young adults with disabilities and will include academic instruction and job coaching. "In the past, it has been a one-size-fits-all approach. Now, we will be better able to support students make the transition to adulthood," said Jeff Montgomery, the district's director of student services.
