Research finds variation in diabetes networking sites

Many diabetes-focused social networking sites regulate forums to update information, but most do not have professionals available to answer queries or provide feedback, a study in the Archives of Internal Medicine found. Twelve of the 15 sites studied accepted advertisements from companies that make diabetes drugs or products and were partially or fully funded by such companies, while a few were backed by volunteer or foundation support.
