CTIA among groups opposed to FTC rules on kids' privacy

The Federal Trade Commission ran into headwinds from technology companies and various industry groups -- including CTIA - The Wireless Association® -- over the agency's proposed rules on the online privacy of children, saying the regulations would inhibit innovation and create onerous compliance costs. CTIA warned that the changes could hurt children by curbing their ability to participate in "positive and valuable Internet-based experiences."
