NCQA program helps provider groups prove ACO status

The National Committee for Quality Assurance is offering a program to certify provider groups as accountable care organizations based on measures related to processes of care for specific conditions and patient groups, as well as measures pertaining to medication management and care coordination, among other criteria. The committee plans to release a list of the first ACOs that have passed the accreditation review by year's end.
