Americans make death the main topic at dinner parties

Whether at formal dinner parties or family gatherings over pizza, more Americans are having conversations about death in general and about specific preferences for end-of-life medical care. A group of graduate students at the University of Washington started "Let's Have Dinner and Talk About Death," and within a month 400 people had signed up to host dinners. "This is a conversation that the entire country needs to be having," said teaching fellow Michael Hebb, who helped launch the idea.
