College to take over Ill. university aviation program

Parkland College and the University of Illinois recently agreed on a plan for the community college to take over UI's Institute of Aviation. Parkland will lease the institute's facilities at Willard Airport and use the program's fleet of aircraft. The program will also create a pathway program for students to transfer from Parkland to UI. The university had planned to close the aviation program in August 2014.
