Food franchisees fight proposed bans on plastic foam containers

Proposed bans on polystyrene coffee cups and foodservice packaging in several U.S. cities and counties have restaurant franchisees concerned about high costs and the lack of more environmentally friendly options. "Finding an alternative to the polystyrene foam cup is our company’s No. 1 sustainability priority," said Dunkin' Brands' spokeswoman Michelle King. "We've been searching for a cup solution for several years and our quest continues."
